High winds blew down trees and damaged power lines which knocked out power to over 8000 homesas well as traffic signals, tying up traffic in Canyon County during the afternoon and evening. Heavy rain also caused street flooding in Nampa and Caldwell.
In Caldwell, 25 miles west of Boise, a large tree fell on a car after being blown over by strong winds. Winds estimated at 60 to 70 mph blew near Sand Hollow, 30 miles northwest of Boise. A large tree in Nampa, 15 miles west of Boise, was downed by strong wind.
