Strong thunderstorm winds swept through a suburb of Hailey toppling numerous cottonwood trees up to 40 feet tall. One tree fell on a garage, damaging its roof, while another crushed a pump house. A camper trailer was forced off its legs; crushing one end.
Three trees along with power lines were downed across Little Wood Reservoir Road just north of Carey. It was very near N Main St or US Highway 20. 700 customers were without power in the towns of Carey, Picabo, and Gannett.
Gusty winds and hail associated with severe thunderstorms moved through southern Idaho and parts of northern Idaho. In Dubois, a tractor-semitrailer was overturned causing the road to close for an hour. Trees and power lines were downed in the Hailey and the Terreton area. Lightning also caused seven fire starts. The largest fire was 500 acres at Black Butte.
