What the reports say

The Merwiether County Emergency Management Director reported widespread thunderstorm wind damage across the county. Dozens of trees and power lines were down across the county. A total of four homes were damaged in the county. Two mobile homes in Greenville were completely moved off their foundations. One of the homes was destroyed, while the other was heavily damaged. No evidence of a tornado was found. The sun room of another home was damaged from a downed tree. The two other homes sustained minor damage. Ten roads across the county were closed from downed trees and power lines.
An off-duty National Weather Service employee and the Meriwether County 911 center reported trees blown down from Gay to east of Alvaton. Near the intersection of Clark Road and Greenville Street in Gay, a large oak tree was blown down onto a house and 2 vehicles, causing considerable damage to each. No injuries were reported. Several trees were blown down near the intersection of Highway 362 and Mt Carmel Road.
The Manchester Star Mercury reported that a Greenville woman was injured when a tree fell on the vehicle she was driving during the thunderstorm. The Manchester Public Works Department also reported numerous trees down just north of Manchester.
