Thunderstorm winds uprooted several trees, downed power lines and utility poles throughout Blakely. About 1200 residents of Blakely were without power form more than five hours. Nearly four inches of rain fell in less than one hour. Thunderstorm winds also downed one large tree that fell and crushed a power boat and automobile.
A severe thunderstorm uprooted several pecan trees just east of Jakin. A nearby storage building and barn were damaged. Several trees fell across King-Santi Road. A large tree fell over a pasture fence where several of the cows escaped and wandered onto U.S. Highway 84. Three vehicles traveling in the eastbound lane struck four cows. Two drivers and three passengers were injured and transported to a local hospital.
