What the reports say

Numerous reports of large hail, ranging in size from quarters to golf balls were received from the public. Damage was reported to roofs of several homes in the area. Most of the golf ball-sized hail was reported in the Ringgold area, with mostly quarter to half-dollar-sized hail elsewhere.
The public observed ping-pong ball-sized hail near Fort Oglethorpe and quarter-sized hail near Lakeview. WSR-88D data suggests that similar-sized hail likely continued southeastward across the county toward Tunnel Hill.
The Catoosa County 911 Center relayed reports of penny to nickel-sized hail across far northern Catoosa county near the Tennessee state line, 4-5 miles north of Fort Oglethorpe and Ringgold. Nickel-sized hail was observed in the Lakeview area and penny-sized hail north of Ringgold.
