Around 535 pm local time, a portion of Branford Highway about 5 miles southwest of Lake City was closed due to high water around waist deep in some areas. Around 854 pm local time, a reported was received that heavy rain caused a sink hole at a business in Fort White, east of Highway 47 near U.S. Highway 27.
At 905 am, the emergency manager reported a daily rainfall thus far of 5.85 inches at Melrose Park Elementary School in Lake City. At 1015 am, a CoCoRAHS observed about 7 miles SSW of Lake City measured a daily rainfall of 8.10 inches.
Emergency Management reported a 20 foot diameter sinkhole developed on a private residence driveway near the intersection of Shiloh Road and Randolph Street. A car fell into the hole. The depth of the sinkhole was about 10 feet. No injuries were reported. Radar rainfall estimates ranged from 3 to 5 inches in the area over the past 24 hours. A tow truck was trying to retrieve the car.
