A severe thunderstorm rumbled across southwest Lincoln County, dropping hail up to ping pong-ball size and producing wind gusts estimated at 70 mph (61 knots). The hail damaged corn and alfalfa crops. Winds blew the sheet metal off an outbuilding southwest of Limon.
An intense wet microburst produced damaging wind and torrential hail. The wind moved a storage tank, approximately 14 ft in diameter, a distance of 150 ft. In addition, three trees were blown down. Hail drifts, four to five feet deep, were also observed.
Straightline winds associated with a severe thunderstorm uprooted several trees and power poles. The downed electrical lines led to several fires and caused power outages in Hugo. Several fences were also blown down. Two motorists sustained minor injuries.
