Eleven Mile Canyon was evacuated and closed down for several days due to floodwaters threatening to wash out a popular road. The flooding was the result of an above average winter snowpack from heavy late season rain and snow events in May.
A combination of heavy rainfall, anywhere from 2 to 4 inches, and hail produced debris flows and that damaged county roads between Elevenmile Reservoir and Spinney Reservoir. County roads 59 and 333 were closed due to road damage. The hail accumulated up to 18 inches deep in spots.
A tornado touched down and caused damage in an RV park. Several power lines were downed and a some damage reported along Park County Road 370. Some buildings in Lake George also sustained minor damage. Trees were snapped from their bases. The tornado continued its track into Teller County.
