The St. Croix County, Wisconsin, sheriff's office indicated that a fire in a $1 million home in the 200 block of St. Anne's Parkway in Troy Township, just south of Hudson was caused by a lightning strike. Smoke and flames were shooting out of the large home's roof, where extensive damage occurred.
A damage survey determined an EF-1 tornado touched down and tracked approximately six miles to two miles southeast of Boardman, Wisconsin. Numerous trees were snapped off or uprooted. Several garages and a boat were blown away. This tornado was also accompanied by very strong southerly inflow winds that also knocked down numerous trees 1/4 to 1/2 mile south of the tornado.
About one dozen homes were damaged, mostly due to some shingles, soffits or siding being torn off. One house, however, had windows blown in and had partial roof damage. It also had a garage that was completely blown apart and destroyed, but the garage had been added on and was not part of the original house itself. Another house had damage to its front porch overhang, which allowed wind to enter the attic and punch a hole through the roof on the backside of the house. At a farm, an old barn collapsed. At another house, part of the roof was blown off a machine shed.
