What the reports say

Winds of 70 mph or higher caused some damage in and around Mound City. Two large pole barns were destroyed, some homes and businesses were damaged, along with several trees and branches downed. A home had most of the siding torn off of one side. A grain bin was also destroyed.
Extremely dry and windy conditions contributed to a fire at the Pollock rubble site. The fire spread to the nearby prairie and consumed many acres. The fire came within yards of a new home under construction. The fire was finally contained late in the evening.
Winds gusting to 70 mph in Mound City blew a large tree down and into a trailer home wall. Another fallen branch damaged a Mound City home when it broke through the corner of the dwelling. Mound City was without power for 6 to 7 hours as a result of the storm.
