An EF-1 tornado touched down along US Highway 82 just north of Greenwood-Leflore Airport. The tornado tracked southeastward across portions of Carroll County and lifted along County Road 32, just west of the Montgomery County line. The most intense damage occurred along the Highway 82 corridor, where peak winds were estimated to be 105mph. Thousands of hardwood and softwood trees were snapped or uprooted, with several falling onto homes, fences, and utility lines. Numerous power lines were downed as well. Additional damage included roof damage to several single-family residences, as well as the destruction or significant damage to multiple sheds and other outbuildings along the tornado���s path.
Several inches of rain fell across Carroll County which flooded several roads. A few roads were washed out with one culvert washed out in North Carrollton. A business sustained minor flood damage. Across the northwest portion of the county, a few roads were under water.
Significant flooding occurred across the county, with numerous streets and roads flooded. Multiple roads were washed out as well. Subsequent erosion to the banks along Big Sand Creek and Beasley Creek caused trees to fall into the creek beds. Seven homes and two businesses were impacted by floodwaters. The dam at Gee Lake failed after the lake became overfilled from runoff floodwaters, causing downstream flooding in Leflore County. Over eight inches of rain fell at the Greenwood Leflore Regional Airport.
