Extensive property damage occurred in the Cape St. Claire area due to straight-line wind damages. Two houses were extensively damaged and a van was also damaged. Numerous trees and powerlines were downed due to the severe thunderstorms. Several very large trees were also downed, including as a 125 foot red oak tree which was uprooted by the severe winds.
A microburst surged through Riviera Beach, causing extensive damage to a 30-block area in the town. A total of 12 homes were damaged, two extensively. One home was nearly destroyed when a 5 foot diameter oak tree fell. Another home suffered damage to its exterior electrical system. A 4-foot diameter tree crushed a shed, and another shed was thrown a short distance before disintegrating. Numerous small trees, and hundreds of branches, were blown down by the storm. Widespread power outages were noted across northern Anne Arundel Co, with 5,000 customers without power shortly after the storm. Other less significant damage occurred to sidings and shingles. A chimney was damaged, and a few windows were blown out.
Numerous large trees and power lines blew down in Ridgeway. In the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue, a large tree blew down onto power lines; the live power lines fell onto a chain link fence, and when a 31-year-old man was walking their dog who touched the fence, the dog and person were both electrocuted. Nearby in the 1400 block of Disney Avenue, a large tree blew down onto a house causing a partial collapse of the second floor.
