This site is a historical archive. It does not issue forecasts, watches or warnings, and must never be relied on for decisions about active weather. For official alerts always use weather.gov.
Accuracy
Figures are derived from federal records that are themselves revised over time. Recent entries are preliminary, damage values are as reported and not inflation-adjusted, and early decades are under-reported. We correct errors when they are pointed out, but we make no warranty of completeness.
Using our pages
The underlying data is United States federal public-domain material and is free to use. You may quote and cite any page with a link back; each archive page carries a ready-made citation line. Bulk scraping that degrades service for other visitors is not permitted.
