Severe Weather History is a public reference archive. This policy explains what data is and is not collected when you use it.
What we collect
- Nothing that identifies you for ordinary browsing. There are no accounts, no profiles and no tracking cookies of our own.
- Aggregate analytics — page views and referrers, collected first-party without cookies or cross-site identifiers.
- Messages you send us — if you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are stored in our administration queue so we can reply. They are not added to any mailing list.
- Server logs — standard request logs kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
Advertising and third parties
When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its certified partners may serve ads on this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. See our cookie policy for opt-out links, and Google’s policy on how partner sites use data.
Your rights
Visitors in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and California may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold — in practice this only ever concerns messages you have sent us. Requests go through the contact page and are answered within 30 days.
Children
This site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data sources
All weather records published here come from United States federal public-domain sources (NOAA/NCEI, NOAA SPC, FEMA, U.S. Census, NWS) and contain no personal data about visitors.
