Six to eight inches of rain fell on Friday 8/12 across West Baton Rouge Parish, leading to flash flooding generally over the western half of the parish. Several roads were closed due to high water and approximately 40 homes suffered flood damage.
Heavy rain, possibly as much as 8 inches in 90 minutes, produced flooding of streets and approximately 110 homes in the parish. The water in homes was generally several inches in depth. Media reports indicated around 20 homes were affected in the Lynndale subdivision and 15 homes in Brusly.
Downburst wind damage occurred in the Brusley and Addis areas. An apartment building had portion of its roof blown off and some brick veneer peeled off. A commercial building was also damage. Several trees were snapped along with power poles.
