What became one of the most destructive hail storms to hit Washakie County developed near Gooseberry Creek on the afternoon of the 6th and traveled through the Worland area. This storm left a 13 mile swath of destruction to various crops in southwest and central Washakie County. Most of the hail ranged from pea- to marble-size, but a few stones were as large as one inch in diameter. Over 10,000 acres of malt barley and 8,000 acres of sugar beets, in addition to various other crops, were damaged by the storm. Total crop loss was unavailable at publication time.
