A lone severe thunderstorm developed over east-central Laramie county during the early evening and intensified as it moved north. Golf ball-size hail was reported at Albin in northeast Laramie county. Later, winds of 60 mph were estimated at La Grange in southeast Goshen county.
A line of severe thunderstorms moved through southern Niobrara County and into northern Goshen County. Golf ball-sized hail was reported at both Lusk and Jay Em, while a roof was blown off a barn 30 miles north of Torrington.
A cluster of thunderstorms moved through central Goshen County during the evening. Winds were estimated at between 60 and 80 mph with gusts of 90 mph. There were numerous reports of trees blown over or snapped. One photo in the local newspaper showed a 50-foot tree branch over a foot in diameter that had been ripped from a large Honey Locust Tree. The towns of Lingle and Yoder also had trees damaged by the high winds. A repeater tower 150-feet tall was knocked to the ground eight miles southwest of Lingle. Power outages were also common as the high winds felled power poles and lines in Torrington. No damage figures were reported.
