Thunderstorm downburst wind gusts, estimated in the 75 to 100 mph range, caused major damage to 2 large industrial buildings in the Neenah-Menasha area. Much of the west-facing wall of one building was blow inward. The high winds also downed trees and power lines, knocked down an 80-foot ham radio tower, bent a large flagpole, downed fences and threw a carport into a yard two houses down the street.
A building on the west side of Menasha was damaged by winds estimated at 75 mph. A car was flipped near Highways 76 and 10. Several camper trailers were also tipped over at a nearby campground, heavily damaging one of them.
A thunderstorm produced winds near 50 mph at the EAA AirVenture grounds at Wittman Airport. The strong wind gust knocked over several dumpsters and three tents. The wind also pushed a light airplane into a parked car and flipped an aircraft onto a P-51 Mustang plane.
