After the initial flash flooding across Trempealeau County, the flood waters continued to cause problems through July 20th into the 21st. Flooding along the Little Tamarack Creek caused evacuations to occur in Galesville and flooded the fire department building. Homes in Galesville and Blair were reported to have 5 to 6 feet of water in some basements. Two homes were destroyed, 12 sustained major damage and 52 suffered minor damage during the flooding.
In Osseo, sandbagging was done along the North Fork of the Buffalo River and firemen went door to door to alert residents of flooding along the South Fork of the Buffalo River. The heavy rain also flooded numerous basements throughout town with about 40 structures sustaining minor water damage. The flood waters along the Buffalo River caused the Buffalo River State Trail to be shut down from west of Osseo into Jackson County.
Runoff from melting snow caused flooding to occur along most streams in Trempealeau County. One home collapsed in the Town of Arcadia from the flooding and numerous county and town roads were closed. State Highways 93 and 95 were reduced to one lane. In Dodge, 12 homes were evacuated due to ice jam flooding along the Trempealeau River. Around 30 homes and businesses sustained minor to major damage and another 45 were affected by the flooding.
