Scattered severe thunderstorms generated damaging winds and hail up to one inch in diameter across southern Wisconsin. Powerful winds blew down many large trees and power lines in Grant County. Hail was the main afternoon event over southeast Wisconsin. One inch diameter hail was produced by two separate storms over Kenosha County. As with the morning (May 18th) severe weather across southern Wisconsin, the afternoon storms raced northeastward at speeds of 50 to 60 mph.
