A severe thunderstorm moved across portions of Berkeley County, WV, and caused damages in the Bunker Hill area. One large tree was uprooted on Giles Mill Road, with several smaller branches downed as well. A semi-truck trailer was overturned near the Interstate 81 interchange during this storm. A church steeple was damaged on Runnymead Road.
Three-quarter-inch hail was reported, and several trees and power lines were knocked down in Martinsburg. Thunderstorm winds, as high as 70 mph, blew down trees and power lines, and knocked the skirting from several mobile homes in Baker Heights. Another home six miles south of Martinsburg sustained $25 thousand in damage. Potomac Edison reported 3000 customers without power during the peak of the storm.
Wind damage was reported near Berkeley. Wires and a poles were knocked over near the intersection of US-11 Williamsport Pike and Mid Atlantic Parkway. A tree blew down near the intersection of US-11 Williamsport Pike and Weaver Lane. Wires were down near the intersection of Blair Street and Hanshew Lane.
