Thunderstorm winds created a swath of damage through the city of Danville. Numerous trees and utility poles were snapped or blown down. Two vehicles were totaled by fallen trees, and a window was blown out at the Danville Regional Hospital. Over 6000 homes lost power due to the damage to utilities.
Numerous trees were knocked down in the Westover Hills area of Danville. One house suffered major structural damage and another house and mobile home suffered minor structural damage. The wind damage was caused by a microburst from a severe thunderstorm.
Thunderstorm winds blew down several trees in a swath of damage through the city of Danville from 2:09 PM EST to 2:31 PM EST. One of the trees landed on Parkway Drive. Another tree fell over power lines on Lynch Street, and a power pole was split as a result. In addition, two houses suffered damage due to a tree falling on each of them.
