Hundreds of trees, branches, and wires blew down across northern Culpeper County between Amissville, Jeffersonton, and Rixeyville between 4:40 and 4:50 PM. Minor damage to farm buildings was reported, as well. This was part of the same destructive thunderstorm cluster that affected Fauquier County. Peak winds were estimated to be up to around 75 MPH in this area.
Wires blew down in the 400 block of Business US-15 James Madison Highway. Wires blew down on West Asher Street. Wires blew down in the 200 block of Chestnut Drive. Wires blew down in the 2100 block of Country Club Road. A tree blew down onto wires off of Webster Lane. A tree blew down along southbound US-29 James Monroe Highway at US-15 James Madison Highway.
Approximately 40 to 50 trees were blown down, some onto houses and farm buildings, just east of Culpeper. This included numerous 75 to 100 foot tall trees up to 3 feet in diameter that were uprooted and snapped in the vicinity of Carrico Mills Road.
